Notice on Change of the Mode of Issuance of Trade Mark Certificates (No. 453)

With the aims of implementing and deepening the "Reform to Delegate Power, Streamline Administration and Optimize Government Services", and of putting forward reform on the trade mark registration system, improving business environment and increasing the level of public services, Notice is given that:

 

1. Effective from 1 January 2022, as a means to inform issuance of a trade mark certificate following publication or arising from other type of trade mark application, a "Notification on Obtaining Certificate of  Trademark Registration" will be dispatched to those trade mark owners who submitted their trade mark applications in paper form. Trade mark owners should use the code number as given on the Notification to access to the website of the Trademarks Register of China and download the trade mark certificates in electronic format. For those trade mark applications filed via electronic means, trade mark owners should visit the website of the Trademark Office of China and download the trade mark certificates in electronic format. Trade mark certificates in electronic format can be freely inspected, downloaded and printed by the trade mark owners.  China National Intellectual Property Administration will no longer issue any trade mark certificates in paper form.   

 

2. During the transitional period between 15 October to 31 December 2021, "Notification on Obtaining Certificate of Trademark Registration" will be dispatched to those trade mark owners who submitted their applications in paper format, advising issuance of the trade mark certificates following publication or arising from other types of trade mark application. Trade mark owners should visit the website address and the code number as shown on the Notification to get into access to the website of the Trademarks Register of China and download the trade mark certificates. Simultaneously trade mark certificates in paper format will also be issued to those trade mark owners. For trade mark owners who submitted their applications via electronic means, the mode of issuance of trade mark certificates remains unchanged.
